Mission Statement
Child SASH (Child Sexual Abuse Stops Here) is a nonprofit organization dedicated to eliminating the number of children who are sexually abused. We seek to educate the public on the importance of reporting known or suspected child sexual abuse to law enforcement or a state agency. 90% of child sexual abuse victims know their abuser. The number of sexually abused children will only begin to decrease when we as individuals and as a society begin to understand that the crime of child sexual abuse must be reported, regardless of the relationship to the offender.
What is Child Sexual Abuse?
Child Sexual abuse is when a child is involved in any sexual activity with an
adult or another child. Sexual activity includes:
• Fondling- making a child touch, fondle, stroke another person's body parts OR touching a child's private parts
• The showing of private parts by an adult OR making a child show their private parts
• Voyeurism (Peeping Tom)- observing another person’s private acts either in secret or against a person's will. Private acts include personal care, showering, undressing and other intimate moments
• Penetration with any object or body part into a child's vagina, anus or mouth
• Forcing a child to watch or hear sexual acts, either in person, digital, computer or video images
• Involving a child in pornography, including photographing or videoing sexual poses, private parts, or sexual acts
